Every April, the observance of National Minority Health Month shines the spotlight on the health disparities present within racial and ethnic minorities. This year, the theme is Be the Source for Better Health: Improving Health Outcomes Through Our Cultures, Communities, and Connections https://www.hhs.gov › national-minority-health-month
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services highlights working within the public health community to provide culturally sensitive, quality, equitable, affordable, and respectful care in the preferred language of those receiving the care as being among its primary goals.
Osceola Community Health Services (OCHS) provides various medical, dental, and behavioral services for all ages within our 10 locations and two mobile clinics. We make equal access to care for the uninsured, the underinsured, and the insured possible. This enables OCHS to serve the most vulnerable citizens in our communities by providing ease of access to health centers. Patients also have the convenience of pharmacy services available throughout our network and on-site at some clinic locations.
Perhaps you have been considering getting a physical or some other health check but have been delaying it because of cost or accessibility. Look no further. The knowledgeable and friendly staff at OCHS would be delighted to be your connection to care.
Maintaining good health means doing routine physician visits and follow-ups and following your healthcare provider’s advice. Our case managers will help you make the right connections to improve your health and champion you through achieving a healthier lifestyle.
April and National Minority Health Month will be gone before you know it, but taking charge of your health now can yield benefits for the rest of your life.
