Osceola Community Health Services had the pleasure of attending the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the second phase of Cameron Preserve Apartments. The event was graced by Commissioner Viviana Janer, Deputy Director Celestia McCloud, Steve Auger from Birdsong Housing Partners, and representatives from Parramore Construction. Several county staff members and residents also joined in the celebration. Birdsong Housing Partners and Parramore Construction are the companies behind the development of this new phase, which promises to offer affordable housing options to the community.
After the ribbon was officially cut, attendees were invited to tour three of the newly constructed units. This gave everyone an opportunity to see the high-quality interiors and meet some of the new residents who will be calling Cameron Preserve home.
Among the residents Osceola Community Health Services met were Mr. and Mrs. Perez, a senior couple who previously lived at Good Samaritan. Unfortunately, they lost everything during Hurricane Ian and had been staying with their daughter temporarily. The couple had been eagerly waiting for a place to call their own again and were thrilled when they learned about the availability of new units at Cameron Preserve. They expressed their happiness and gratitude for their new apartment, a place they can now call home.
Osceola Community Health Services also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rafael, who has lived in Osceola County for 27 years. Due to a health condition, Mr. Rafael was unable to continue working and subsequently lost his apartment. He and his wife had been living with their daughter, hoping for a chance to regain their independence. Now, thanks to Cameron Preserve, they too have a space of their own.
